Windows vista does not instell Telnet by default no idea why this is the case, however in this tutorial im going to show you how to get the use of Telnet back. There are plenty of updated programs that are in use today that cover what Telnet does and more (putty, ssh, etc) but of the people that would still like to use telnet then read on.
- Open Control Panel
- Scroll down until you find Programs and Features then double click program features
- From the menu of the left, select Turn Windows Features On or Off
- You need Administrate privaliges to go any further, so you will be displayed with a dialog box asking you to confirm, Click Continue.
- Scroll down until you find Telnet Client
- Check the box for Telnet Client
- Click OK
- Now you will be displayed a dialog telling you that vista is updating the changes, once this is completed you will have Telenet on Vista
You have just configured Windows Vista to use Telent, well done!
