Microsoft sites not opening with BSNL modems

I recently switched to the BSNL UL 750 connection and was surprised to see that with a slow speed the connection didn't even allow me to open any Microsoft sites. I tried changing the DNS settings to but didn't succeed. The trick instead was very simple. You just have to use a proxy server. Try using http://www.freeproxy.ca/ or IP; Port 80. These settings worked for me. If they don't work in your case try other servers mentioned in http://www.proxy4free.com/page1.html.

Note: This problem does not occur with all BSNL modems. The modem that I was given was ZTE ZXDSL 531B.
